About us

Mission

Our mission is to help provide the tools and the resources to make a day out in the backcountry just a day out playing in the woods.

Who are we?

Together, we are KTG Adventures, separately we are Kyle and Alexis, two explorers and lovers of the outdoors. We decided to bring our experiences as naturalists and outdoor professionals together to create unique experiences that combine adventure, education and a passion for the outdoor world.

The two of us met at a little guiding company in the middle of nowhere Colorado. We bonded over a shared passion of the outdoors, adventure and helping others fall in love with something we treasured so deeply. We both had been separately embracing that love of wandering living in vans and then eventually decided to commit to that journey together and started traveling in a full size school bus, fully stocked with all the adventure gear one could need. Eventually this led to us deciding to put our heads together to build a business based on shared passions with the motivation to share that love of the outdoors with others. Our goal is to make the outdoor world a little more accessible and making sure the resources needed to have a safe and well thought out adventure are a little easier to find.

While we both share that extreme passion for the outdoors, our strengths and experiences in the outdoors are a little different.

Kyle has been guiding for around 6 years and has guided everything from jet skis, ATVs, side by sides, whitewater rafting, via ferrata, snowmobiles, more extreme off-road tours and even National Park tours in both Yellowstone and Rocky Mountain National Park. Kyle has an extensive naturalist knowledge as well with favoring topics being ecology and cultural history. In Kyle’s personal life, snow sports have been his main focus. Initially coming to Colorado to pursue snowboarding, he has become quite advanced in the sport and also found a deep love for backcountry snowmobiling.

Alexis has been guiding for about 4 years and also has an array of experience. She was trained as a professional naturalist in Oregon and guided flatwater paddling trips, caving and hiking tours. She has also spent some time guiding via ferrata and ATV tours, and some extreme off-roading and National Park tours in Rocky Mountain National Park. Her passion definitely comes down to sharing that naturalist knowledge and teaching people how important and special our natural world is. Her favorite topics being medicinal plants, trees and geology. In her personal life, much of her outdoor experience has been in the desert rock climbing until truly falling in love with the deep snow of the mountains this past year. She has climbed everywhere across the west from Joshua Tree to Smith Rock to Indian Creek. She loves spending any chance she can immersed in the outdoors.
